Avalokiteshvara

Perceiving the endless suffering of sentient beings, this Bodhisattva gave rise to profound compassion, thus becoming the Bodhisattva who "hears the cries of the world and responds to beings with compassion." This Bodhisattva embodies great compassion, saves beings from suffering and hardship, brings peace and auspiciousness, and answers every prayer. This is the patron Buddha for those born in the Year of the Rat
